Youth Group

What does the club offer?

We extend what we do within the younger Saturday club session by introducing more life skills activities including shopping, cooking, washing up etc. The members work together to prepare a meal that is then shared as a group at the end of the session. We plan more advance art and craft activities and the members come together to share personal interests.

The Youth Group club uses crafts, games and gaming consoles to provide a space for up to 20 young people to socialise and make friends. The club also utilises its location in Stowmarket town centre to take the young people shopping for ingredients which they then cook for a communal snack. The cooking provides another opportunity to teach the young people new skills.

How do you join?

The club is open to young people with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Saturday Club team will assess the young person’s needs to ensure the club is the right environment. On occasion, there are young people whose need are too complex and will not be able to access the club.

Where is the club run?

The Youth Group is held at the leading lives building crown street Stowmarket, IP14 1HY

When does the club run?

The club runs every 4 weeks 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Is there a waiting list?

Yes. We strive to allow new young people to join the club as fast as possible, but there is a waiting list for new members. We also try to limit the change in dynamic as much as possible by not introducing too many young people at once. Get in touch and we’ll be able to discuss your options.
